Healthcare Assistant

Job Title: Healthcare Assistant
Location: Harlow Town
Salary: £12.00 per hour (enhanced pay for bank holidays)

We are looking for compassionate individuals to join our team as Healthcare Assistants, providing Domiciliary and Dementia care to vulnerable people in their homes. Your role will be crucial in promoting our clients’ independence, maintaining their dignity, and supporting their well-being.
Headquartered in Harlow, our Care Agency offers services in various locations across England and Wales. As a Healthcare Assistant (Days), you will be a vital part of our team, working alongside Senior Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses to deliver personalized care.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Personal Hygiene and Care: Assist with washing, mouth care, toileting, manual handling, and mobility.
  • Companionship and Domestic Support: Provide emotional support and assist with daily living activities.
  • Wellbeing Activities: Participate in entertainment and home events to enhance residents' well-being.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily records of care, including fluid balance and dietary charts.
  • Nutritional Support: Assist with feeding and drinking, and report dietary concerns.
  • Appointments: Accompany residents to appointments as needed.
  • Skin Integrity: Assist in maintaining skin health and report any adverse findings.
  • Communication: Liaise with family, friends, and healthcare professionals on behalf of residents.
  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor to new Healthcare Assistants, supporting their induction and ongoing development.
Skills and Experience:
  • Positive Attitude: A friendly and caring approach is essential.
  • Good Communication: Strong communication skills are required.
  • Empathy: A caring and empathetic approach to work.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work every other weekend and availability for 12-hour shifts.
  • Experience: Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.
